SilkeMat 30cm x 30cm & Rigidizor

SilkeMat is a non-carcinogenic refractory fibre blanket that can be cut, moulded, rigidized and formed. it can be used with or without rigidizing. A high grade boron nitride separator is suggested for a cleaner release from the glass when exceeding 760C on rigidized SilkeMat.

There is no "shot" (tiny pieces of silica) in this product and most firings are clean, leaving only the texture of the fibre on the glass.

SilkeMat Rigidizor is non-flammable and formulated for moulding SilkeMat into rigid reusable moulds of the highest quality in performance. Easy to use the rigidizor cures at 780C for pot melts and vitrigraph molds, and can even be used to solidify just the outer shell of the SilkeMat mould to retain a soft, release-free interior for slumping any glass.

Properly prepared and fired, all SilkeMat moulds are reusable for numerous firings.
