Vermiculite Mould - Teabag Plate

These Vermiculite moulds have been designed for use with the Microwave Hotpot kiln, however they will work just as well in a traditional fused glass kiln.

The moulds need to be sprayed with Boron Nitride spray and allowed to dry before firing, please do not use standard kilnwash as the mould will absorb the water.

This mould is to be used with sheet glass rather than frit, the Hotpot is then heated empty in the microwave until it glows. Once it is glowing you can carefully lay your sheet of glass over the mould in the Hotpot and heat for a further 5-10 minutes.

You will need to check regularly - heatproof gloves will be needed.

When the glass has fused, remove the Hotpot from the microwave, place on a heatproof surface and allow to cool to room temperature with the lid on.
